History of Our School

Government Higher Secondary School, Poonur was formally established in 1968 as per Order number GOMS 196/68 dated 30.04.1968. First Head Master in charge of the school was Sri.V.M.Abdurahiman.

The School is situating in 3.50 acres of land at Paranna Parambu, Kanthapuram-Neroth road in Unnikulam panchayath of Kozhikode District. The land was contributed to the government by R.P.Brothers-R.P.Ahammed Kutty Haji and R.P.Aboobacker Haji.

In the first batch of SSLC 84 students out of 169 passed the examination with commentable marks.

The school was upgraded into Higher Secondary with one batch of Humanities and two batches of science in 1998. In the year 2007 September a fresh batch of humanities was sanctioned and started functioning. Later in 2010 the self financing Commerce batch in our school was regularised and in full swing.

Since a school from each Taluk in the district comes under the scheme the school is selected as ‘Model School of the District Panchayath, Kozhikode’ in the year 2013

Intensive Study Camp

In its broad sense, education refers to any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character, or physical ability of an individual…In its technical sense education is the process by which society, through schools, colleges, universities, and other institutions, deliberately transmits its cultural heritage–its accumulated knowledge, values, and skills–from one generation to another .

But in the present days practical sense learning of theories, concepts and performance in the examinations are integral part of education.

Now the school programmes are oriented towards making students to perform with their maximum potential in the forthcoming public examinations. Most of our students belongs to economically backward groups. So school must be more responsible and helpful to motivate the students in the path of learning.

School has arranged intensive study camps from January 25 to February 15 to help our students to face the examinations with confidence. School resource group has arranged various programmes to help the students in this regard.

Home visits of Teachers, Discussions with parents, Intensive coaching classes, Analysis of previous questions and model questions, Model examinations,A+ D+ Clinics and Career guidance are part of the programme.

District Panchayath's support to students from weaker sections

സാമൂഹികമായി പിന്നാക്കം നിൽക്കുന്ന വിഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് പഠിക്കാനും, മുന്നേറാനുമുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ ഒരുക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പാവപ്പെട്ട ഷെഡ്യൂൾഡ് കാസ്റ്റ്/ട്രൈബ് വിഭാഗത്തിലെ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് പഠനമേശയും, കസേരയും വിതരണം ചെയ്യുന്ന പദ്ധതി ആവിഷ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി 27.01.2016 ബുധനാഴ്ച ഹയർസെക്കണ്ടറി വിഭാഗത്തിലെ SC/ST വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മേശയും, കസേരയും വിതരണം ചെയ്തു. ജില്ലാപഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡണ്ട് ശ്രീ.ബാബു പറശ്ശേരി, ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്ത് അംഗം ശ്രീമതി ഷക്കീല ടീച്ചർ, പി.ടി.എ പ്രസിഡണ്ട് നാസർ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് മുക്ക് എന്നിവർക്ക് പുറമെ പി.ടി.എ നിർവ്വാഹകസമിതി അംഗങ്ങളും, പ്രദേശത്തെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാമൂഹ്യ മണ്ഡലങ്ങളിലെ പ്രമുഖ വ്യക്തികളും, രക്ഷിതാക്കളും ചടങ്ങിൽ സംബന്ധിച്ചു.

ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്ത് അംഗം ശ്രീമതി.ഷക്കീല ടീച്ചർ സദസ്സിനെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

തുടർന്ന് സംസ്ഥനതല പ്രവർത്തി പരിചയമേളയിൽ എ ഗ്രേഡ് നേടിയ രണ്ടാം വർഷം കൊമേഴ്സ് ക്ലാസിലെ ആയിഷ ഹിബ എന്ന വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിക്ക് ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡണ്ട് പ്രത്യേക ഉപഹാരം സമർപ്പിച്ചു.

പഠനമേശയുടേയും,
കസേരയുടേയും വിതരണം രണ്ടാം വർഷ സയൻസ് ക്ലാസിലെ ഹർഷദാസ് എന്ന വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിക്ക് നൽകിക്കൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം ഉൽഘാടനം ചെയ്തു.

തുടന്ന് ശ്രീ.ബാബു പറശ്ശേരി അടക്കമുള്ള പ്രമുഖ വ്യക്തികൾ സദസ്സിനെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്തു.

Republic day Celebrations

Republic day celebration is a huge national event in India especially for students in the schools, colleges and other educational institutions. Nation's 67 th Republic day was celebrated in our School with all its solemnity and grandeur on Tuesday, 26th January 2016. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honor and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of the Mother land.

Higer Secondary School Principal Mr.Renny George hoisted the National flag and the gathering Saluted the flag with due respect.

A Student representative from High School section administered national pledge .

Headmistress and Mr.Ashraf talked in the occasion.They exhorted the students to be patriotic and stand for unity and integrity of the country.

Kerala Police Department conducted a Legal awareness test for Higher Secondary students as part of their mission to build up legal awareness in the society especially among student community.

End of the Republic day Celebration was marked by sweet distribution.

സൗഹൃദദിനം

സംഘർഷഭരിതമായ കൗമാര മനസ്സുകൾക്ക് താങ്ങും തണലുമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന 'സൗഹൃദ ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ' ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ '2015 നവമ്പർ 20 വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച' സൗഹൃദദിനമായി ആചരിച്ചു . ഇതിനു പിന്നിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച അദ്ധ്യാപകരുടെ നേതൃത്വ പാടവവും, സംഘാടന മികവും ഈ പരിപാടിയെ വിജയിപ്പിച്ച പ്രധാന ഘടകമാണ്. വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ മികച്ച സഹകരണവും, അർപ്പണബോധവും എടുത്തു പറയേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. സർവ്വോപരി ജനപ്രതിനിധികളുടേയും, പിടിഎ യുടേയും പരിപൂർണ പിന്തുണ കൂടി ലഭിച്ചപ്പോൾ സൗഹൃദ ദിനാഘോഷം ഈ വർഷം സ്കൂളിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച മികച്ച പരിപാടികളിൽ ഒന്നായി മാറി.

ആദരണീയയായ ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്ത് അംഗം ഷക്കീല ടീച്ചറാണ് പരിപാടികൾ ഉൽഘാടനം ചെയ്തത്. ചടങ്ങിൽ പിടിഎ പ്രസിഡണ്ട് നാസർ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് മുക്ക് അദ്ധ്യക്ഷനായിരുന്നു.

'ഉൽഘാടന വേദിയിൽ നിന്ന് ചില ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ'

തുടർന്ന് 'ആധുനിക സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയും, വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളിലെ മൂല്യബോധവും' എന്ന വിഷയത്തെ അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി നടന്ന സംവാദത്തിൽ ചരിത്ര വിഭാഗം സീനിയർ അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ ശ്രീ.റിജുകുമാർ മോഡറേറ്ററായിരുന്നു.

'സംവാദത്തിലെ ചില നിമിഷങ്ങൾ'

'ജീവിത നിപുണതകൾ (Life Skills )' എന്ന വിഷയത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ലഘുനാടകങ്ങൾ (Skits) അവതരണ മികവുകൊണ്ട് ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി. 'കൗമാരക്കാരുടെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ', 'മദ്യപാനം', 'മയക്കു മരുന്ന്' ഇവ സമൂഹത്തെ രോഗഗ്രസ്ഥമാക്കുന്നത്, 'വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിന്റെ ആകുലതകൾ', ഇവക്കിടയിൽ 'നാം കണ്ടെടുക്കുന്ന നന്മയുടെ തിരിനാളങ്ങൾ' ..... ഇങ്ങിനെ വിഷയവൈവിധ്യം കൊണ്ട് സമ്പന്നമായിരുന്നു ലഘുനാടകങ്ങൾ

'ചില നാടകീയ നിമിഷങ്ങളിലേക്ക്'

പരിപാടിയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ മറ്റ് രണ്ട് ഇനങ്ങളായിരുന്നു 'ബാലവേല' എന്ന വിഷയത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ തയ്യാറാക്കിയ പോസ്റ്ററുകളും, 'സ്ത്രീ ശാക്തീകരണം' സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള കൊളാഷ് നിർമ്മാണവും.

'ബാലവേല - ചില പോസ്റ്ററുകൾ'

പുതുതലമുറയുടെ കലാബോധവും, സാമൂഹ്യമനോഭാവവും പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നു പോസ്റ്ററുകളും, കൊളാഷുകളും. തങ്ങൾ ജീവിക്കുന്ന സമൂഹികാവസ്ഥ ഓരോ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയുടേയും വ്യക്തിബോധത്തിൽ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന അനുരണനങ്ങളെ ഈ കലാസൃഷ്ടികളിൽ വായിച്ചെടുക്കാം.
